Mobile Recording

Digital recording setup in the vanMany great performances and magic moments take place during live shows. A perfect opportunity for the Audio Vortex mobile recording unit to capture the energy of your show. The mobile unit can also be used at rehearsal spaces, rented spaces, or one of a kind spots with perfect acoustics. We drag out all the same great gear in the Audio Vortex equipment collection and set it up on location for 16 track digital recording. The resulting tracks are then mixed and mastered back at All Ears Studio.

Part of the mobile unit Another alternative worth considering is the simpler two microphone stereo direct to DAT recording that will give you the same perspective the audience had during your performance. And if you prefer, we can also record direct to an Otari MX5050 two track analog tape deck! Setup for Foley recording of motorcycle racing

The Audio Vortex has contributed the motorcycle sounds for Sony Playstation games MX Superfly and MX 2002. The photo to the right shows one of the motorcycle riders with a wireless microphone attached to his back during the Playstation sessions. The game programmers were blown away by the realistic sounds we captured for them. And they should be! It was real riders on new motorcycles at Walker Valley.
