ALL EARS STUDIO
Mastering
Facility

The Little Mastering Lab in the WoodsAll Ears Studio, located on Camano Island, is used primarily for mixing and mastering, however it is also an over dub studio, and due to the mobile aspect of the Audio Vortex recording gear, it can also be a full tracking facility (a new facility is under construction as of 4/2008). Emphasis has been placed on promoting creativity in a comfortable and efficient work environment. Extensive time and effort has been spent to create an honest playback system in an acoustically neutral room, providing accurate tracking, mixing, and mastering. This assures economy of time and money during the production process.

The BridgeOn a more technical side, studio layout is designed to follow the signal path with minimal interconnects. All wiring is high grade Canare, Mogami, and Monster Cable in short lengths. Monitors are custom-built, powered by VTL tube amps with third octave EQ's. Analog mixdown is accomplished by bussing all the RME - D/A converters direct to a Speck Xtramix which feeds a Sek'D - A/D converted to DAT. We can also mix to an Otari MX5050 half track analog deck for that extra bit of analog magic. Cd's are burned using POW-r dither operating out of Samplitude 7.2. All AC Power is balanced through a Furman IT-1220 providing low jitter rates for digital while eliminating ground loops and induced noise.

Custom-built mastering monitor detailA relaxed and comfortable workplace is one of our goals. Look out any window at All Ears Studio and see nothing but trees and woodlands. We find it relaxing, and think you might too.
